Top marks for Mace’s data centre | Mace
Working for one of UK’s largest financial firms, the Mace technology team are celebrating another high score of 36.5 out of 40, in their latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit.
Average CCS scores on UK sites are around 31, making the team's initial high score of 36.5 hard to beat. However, the high score has been maintained throughout and the project site has been awarded the prestigious status of "exceptionally considerate site", representing a monumental effort from all involved on the project.
Widely recognised in the construction industry, the CCS scheme monitors and scores registered sites against the following checklist: consideration, environmental, appearance, good neighbour, respectful, safety, responsible and accountable. Suggestions are then made for areas of improvement.
The site was judged to be operating at a very high standard, taking measures well in excess of basic compliance. Perfect scores were also achieved on environmental impacts, particularly its use of eco-cabins, waterless urinals, rainwater harvesting, car sharing, and the use of a recyclable geogrid for all temporary roads, pathways and onsite recycling.
On his first visit to the project, CCS reviewer Doug Chalmers commented: "A very well presented site giving a very good image for the industry. A credit to all concerned."
Whilst on his second visit, he added: "The site has not only maintained the standards seen on the first visit, but are also keeping items under review to identify ways in which further improvements can be achieved. Once again, the site is a credit to all concerned and has been a pleasure to visit."
Mace director, Nicholas Russell, commented: "This is fantastic, congratulations to the team for achieving such a high score for a second time."
Lastly, the client's director of facilities and resources added: "This is fantastic news. I'm delighted with the rating! This continues to reinforce our decision in choosing Mace for this project - well done to all the team!"
